Short story.… The first time my mother took me to see a live show in New York, I knew that something inside me had been changed forever.It was a spiritual experience and even as a child I firmly knew I had been transformed by the stories, sounds, and performances of the artist who somehow turned a room full of strangers into a tribe. Some years later, I would have a similar feeling in a church service and I’m certain that’s where my belief that “the arts are divine” was first formed. Everyday, the Acts On Stage team works to serve that belief through programs and productions that elevate the arts, the artists, and all audiences.
We are on a mission to change lives dramatically and your support helps us stay focused and fueled for that work. Art As Activism is more than a phrase to us. It’s an empirically tested truth! Whether we are preventing creative youth from slipping through the cracks through programs like Renaissance20 or we help awaken the heart in adults through the stories we tell, we are committed to being a driving force behind a new era renaissance where creativity creates social change!
